Periodic Table - A-Levels Chemistry
Periodic table
The periodic table is central to OCR A Level Chemistry A. Learners use it to identify elements, atomic numbers, relative atomic masses, groups, periods, blocks, electron configurations and trends in chemical behaviour.
It supports work on atomic structure, bonding, periodicity, Group 2, the halogens, transition elements, formulae, equations and quantitative chemistry.

Learners should use it to
- find atomic numbers and relative atomic masses
- identify metals, non-metals, groups, periods and s-, p- and d-block elements
- link position in the periodic table to electron configuration
- explain periodic trends across periods and down groups
- support calculations involving formulae, equations and amount of substance
